MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is the open standard that lets AI apps such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini use other software. Knola has its own remote MCP server, so any MCP client can build and manage courses in a Knola school.
You do not need to know any of this to connect your AI. It is here for builders who want the details.

Do I need to know anything technical?
No. You paste one address into your AI, sign in to Knola and click Allow. Each AI has its own step-by-step page.
Which AI apps work with Knola?
ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code with GitHub Copilot and Gemini CLI, and any other AI that can connect to apps by web address.
Does my AI write my course for me?
Yes, if you want it to. Your AI can write your full course: the modules, lessons, quizzes and checklists. It can also make the slides, the narrated videos and your sales page. Or give it your own notes and plan, and it builds from those. Everything lands in Knola as a draft, so you check it before it goes live.
Which Knola plans include it?
Every plan. You set it up in Knola under Settings ▸ Connected apps.
Does it cost extra?
No. Connecting your AI comes with every Knola plan. Some requests, such as slides, images and narrated videos, use your AI credits, the same as when you make them in Knola. Your AI can use credits only if you choose "Build with me" or "Run it", and you can set a monthly credit limit for each AI you connect. If you do not have enough credits, nothing is made and nothing is charged, and your AI tells you.
Can my AI publish or email my students without me?
Not unless you let it. You choose what each AI may do when you connect it. With "Draft for me", it builds drafts and nothing your students or buyers see changes until you publish. Sending email and deleting are separate permissions, and it asks you first.
How do I disconnect it?
Open Settings ▸ Connected apps in Knola and remove it. It loses access at once. You can also change what it may do there at any time.
Does Knola have an MCP server?
Yes. Knola has a remote MCP server at https://www.knola.ai/api/mcp. It is how ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and other AI apps connect to your Knola school. It comes with every Knola plan.
What is MCP?
