How to control exactly what each price unlocks

Edit what every part of an offer opens (main price, bump, upsell, downsell) with per-leg access chips you can add and remove any time.

A grant is the link between a price and the access it opens. Each leg of an offer (the main price, an order bump, an upsell, a downsell) carries its own grants, so a $19 bump can unlock a workbook tier while the main price unlocks the whole course. The composer sets grants when you build the offer; this guide is for changing them afterwards.

Open the offer

In your admin, go to Offers and click the offer you want to change. On the Setup tab, the What this offer unlocks card lists every leg (Main offer, Order bump, Upsell, Downsell) with its access shown as chips in the form course → package.

Add access to a leg

Click + Add access on the leg you want to expand. A picker appears with every package in your school that leg doesn't already unlock. Click one to grant it, then Done to close the picker. The new chip appears immediately.

This is how you bolt a new course onto an offer you already sell. Add its package to the main leg and every future buyer gets both.

Remove access from a leg

Click the ✕ on a chip to remove that grant. One rule is enforced: every leg must unlock at least one package. Try to remove the last chip and Knola refuses with "Each part must unlock at least one package." A price that opens nothing would be a purchase with nothing behind it.

Know who your changes affect

Grant edits apply to new purchases only. Buyers who already purchased keep whatever they unlocked at the time. Removing a grant never takes access away from an existing student.

Make sure each add-on still unlocks something the main offer doesn't. A bump whose packages are all covered by the main leg charges the buyer extra for nothing.

Can one offer unlock tiers from different courses?

Yes. Grants can point at any package in your school, so a single leg can open tiers across several courses. That is how bundles and cross-sell upsells work.

If I remove a grant, do existing buyers lose access?

No. Changes only affect new purchases. Everyone who already bought keeps exactly what they unlocked at the time of purchase.

Why can I not remove the last package from a leg?

Every priced leg must unlock at least one package. Otherwise buyers would pay for nothing. Add the replacement package first, then remove the old one.
